Our Farm is situated on the slopes of the Olifantsberg Mountain overlooking the Breedekloof Valley.

Strong winds blow through our valley all year round making it tough for vines to grow. This is a positive struggle as the vines yield small concentrated berries full of flavour and vitality.

Soils are rich in shale and schist, ensuring free drainage and an underlying layer of clay helps keep the soils moist through summer.

The farm is located between 300 and 470m above sea level. These higher altitudes ensure that the vineyards benefit from cooler growing conditions.

vineyards

Grape varietals are chosen for their ability to thrive in the natural farm environment. Dry climate vines, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne and Chenin are at the heart of our quest to produce world class wines that are perfectly suited to our environment.

The use of high density eschalas is a critical part of our strategy. These staked vines create a unique micro climate, lowering temperatures to ensure better acidity and aromatic fruit. Precision pruning techniques are deployed to extend lifespan and consistency of the grapes.

winery

All of our wine is made on the farm in our winery. The winery is solar powered and includes a water treatment facility to ensure that our footprint is as gentle as the wine we produce.

To ensure our wines accurately reflect the site where our vineyard grows, our fruit is treated gently and with respect.
